of Environmental justice
The Nature Smart Learning Academy offers students across America a year-round naturalistic educational learning environment through Texas Agri-Life curriculum which is apart of DISD Education. The Nature Smart Learning Academy is an afterschool program for Environmental Education centered around K-12 schools for environmental Social Justice. Our student driven garden based academy focuses on 3 Core Programs addressing:
Urbanization Disparities
Racial Energy Deprivation
Cultural Health Illiteracy
When we are out of sympathy with the young, then I think our work in this world is over.
Commissary Is Very Necessary, Inc. is a 501 (c) (3) charitable organization dedicated to improving the lives of communities affected by child hunger, environmental racism, and unemployment.

Please support CIVN in our fundraising efforts to sustain more community gardens in elementary, middle, high schools and churches. Through the Nature Smart Learning Academy CIVN uses Texas Agri-Life’s Learn Grow Eat Go curriculum to teach our youth about the benefits of not only a nutritious diets but also the benefits it has on their mental health. CIVN is a community resource organization and provides food,mental healthcare, career opportunities and much more to the community.
